There are high impact strategies that are useful in the classroom that redirect students, keep students engaged, and push students to think for themselves. Relating these strategies to Hattie's rankings, they would fall in the top tier of effective classroom instructional strategies. We will discuss the Jigsaw Method of Cooperative Learning, Pass for class discussion, as well as some other quick peer discussion techniques that require little prep work, but have high impact on student learning.
